Job summary

Orion Placement in Chicago seeks an experienced Corporate Finance attorney to represent lenders and borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions. You will join a national firm’s established team, take on meaningful responsibility, and work on asset-based, real estate, and cash-flow loans on a daily basis.

Candidates must hold an active Illinois Bar license (or be eligible to waive) with 3+ years of transferable corporate or transactional experience.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Bar membership or eligibility to waive into Illinois.
• 3+ years of corporate, finance, transactional, or other transferable legal experience.
• Finance transaction experience representing lenders and/or borrowers preferred.
• Experience with asset-based, real estate, and/or cash flow loans is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders and borrowers in sophisticated corporate finance transactions.
• Assist with the documentation, negotiation, and closing of financing transactions.
• Work on asset-based, real estate, and cash flow loans.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements, loan documents, and related transaction documents.
• Coordinate transaction matters through closing and help keep deals moving efficiently.
• Analyze legal and business issues and develop practical solutions for clients.
• Work closely with attorneys, clients, lenders, borrowers, and other transaction participants.
• Take ownership of assigned matters while collaborating with a well-established Corporate Finance team.
• Apply strong attention to detail and sound judgment in a fast-paced transactional environment.
