Job summary

ELEVI Associates, located in Laurel, is seeking a Software Engineer – Mid Level to contribute across the software lifecycle in a hybrid work setting. Key duties include design, development, testing, and documentation using languages such as Python, JavaScript, that support RESTful services and frontend frameworks like React or Angular.

The candidate will work in cloud environments, participate in Agile practices (Scrum/SAFe), and assist with DevOps tasks including AWS deployment and container

Qualifications

• Eight years of total experience in application design and development.
• Experience with back-end database architectures in cloud-based or relational contexts.
• Experience with full lifecycle software development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle from requirements through design, development, testing and documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and support system administrators with installations.
• Guide users in requirements, feasibility studies and budgeting for software tasks.

Job description

The Software Engineer shall meet the following minimum requirements:

• Hybrid work in Laurel
• Eight (8) years demonstrated experience in application design and development, to include experience with back-end database architectures, relational or cloud-based, and full lifecycle software development.
• A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems or related discipline may be substituted for four (4) years' experience, or a Master of Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems or related discipline may be substituted for six (6) years' experience.
• Candidates must have the experience listed below:
• 4+ years of experience in full-stack application design and development, including implementation of relational or NoSQL databases, web-based APIs such as REST, and frontend frameworks such as React or Angular, in cloud-based environments (with bachelors degree)
• 4+ years of experience developing backend web services using object-oriented languages such as Python
• Experience delivering software to clients using Agile methodologies, including Scrum or SAFe
• Experience using automated software testing frameworks, including PyTest or JUnit
• Docker and or Kubernetes required
• ALSO can write code and work on DevOps (AWS and docker)

Description

The Software Engineer -- Mid Level shall participate in all phases of the software lifecycle from requirements definition through design, development, integration and test in various object-oriented and scripted languages (e.g., Java Script, C++, Perl, Python, Ruby). The Software Engineer -- Mid Level shall apply industry best practices to all development efforts and review, analyze, and modify software systems including coding, testing, debugging, installing and documenting. The Software Engineer -- Mid Level shall support system administrators with the installation of software applications, develop training materials and mentor junior team members. The Software Engineer -- Mid Level shall guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies as required, and estimate resource requirements for software tasks for inclusion into project budget and schedule.
