Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across PA, DE, MD, Northern VA, and DC Metro.

You will build executive-level client relationships, identify opportunities, and manage the proposal process from outreach to award, reporting to the President. You will collaborate with marketing and technical teams to develop capture strategies, maintain the sales pipeline, and travel up to half the time to meet clients and lead industry events.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing relationships with public- and private-sector clients in engineering, architecture, environmental, transportation, construction management, or infrastructure industries.
• Experience with public agencies, municipalities, DOTs, transit agencies, utilities, and private developers is highly desirable.
• Established professional network within the Mid-Atlantic region strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform market research to identify opportunities and lead outreach activities.
• Develop a strategic BD plan to facilitate revenue growth across PA, DE, MD, Northern VA, and DC Metro territory.
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Develop/maintain relationships with PennDOT, DelDOT, MDOT, DDOT, VDOT, transit agencies, utilities, and private developers.
• Maintain a qualified sales pipeline and forecast annual revenue growth.
• Identify strategic pursuits and coordinate go/no-go with technical leadership.
• Attend industry events to develop client relationships and opportunities.
• Assist in developing marketing materials and capture strategies with the technical team.
• Coordinate opportunity tracking from lead generation through contract award.
• Travel up to 50% of time, with 2–3 overnight stays per month.
