Job summary

Swingtech in Washington, DC is hiring a Mid AI/ML Engineer to contribute hands-on across discovery, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of AI-enabled solutions. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver secure, measurable AI capabilities.

The role requires at least 3 years in AI/ML, strong Python/SQL skills, experience with REST APIs, cloud platforms, and a pragmatic, security-minded approach to software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• At least 3 years in AI/ML implementation, NLP or AI-enabled software.
• Experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, Git and testing.
• Experience with ML frameworks, NLP, embeddings, or vector search.
• Cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP) or equivalent.
• Ability to work in an agile, multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML-enabled applications, APIs, data-processing components, and RAG pipelines.
• Support model development, fine-tuning, evaluation, and production monitoring.
• Build RAG capabilities with document ingestion, embeddings, and vector indexing.
• Implement automated tests, CI/CD, and secure software practices.
• Prepare technical docs, runbooks, and release notes.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and collaboration with stakeholders.
