Job summary

Swingtech seeks a Mid-level AI/ML Engineer to join our growing team in Washington. You will contribute hands-on across discovery, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of AI-enabled solutions for DOL stakeholders.

Responsibilities include building AI/ML applications, RAG pipelines, and integration layers with secure SDLC practices; you will tune models, support evaluation, and participate in CI/CD and MLOps activities in a multidisciplinary agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (CS/DS/SE/Info Systems/Math/Stats)
• 3+ years in AI/ML implementation or related fields
• Experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, Git, and automated testing
• Experience with ML frameworks, LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, or model evaluation
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary agile team and communicate technical details clearly

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML-enabled applications, APIs, data-processing components, and RAG pipelines
• Support model development, tuning, evaluation, and production monitoring
• Build RAG capabilities with document ingestion, embeddings, vector indexing and knowledge-base refresh
• Implement workflow automation with secure tool integrations and audit logging
• Develop robust Python/SQL code using secure SDLC practices
• Create automated tests for unit/integration/data-quality/model evaluation
• Support AI evaluation for accuracy, bias, explainability, and safety
• Participate in CI/CD, DevSecOps, MLOps, code review, and security scanning
• Prepare technical docs, runbooks, and release notes
• Support privacy, security, Responsible AI, accessibility, and ATO activities
• Participate in agile ceremonies and backlog refinement
