Job summary

Advocate Health’s 14-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) seeks a part-time RN for a 24-hour weekly schedule. You will care for high-acuity adult patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, and ARDS, in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and evidence-based practice.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS, and about 1 year of clinical experience; BSN preferred. Collaboration with the care team and accurate EHR documentation are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing education program.
• Active RN license in the state(s) where practicing.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit governance and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans; collaborate with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Uphold a culture of safety and ensure accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and treatments per clinical protocols.
• Provide effective communication and appropriate delegation within the team.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications.
