Job summary

SpaceX is recruiting a Hardware Development Engineer focusing on micr oelectronics for Starlink in Redmond. The role covers PCBA manufacturing, design for manufacturing feedback, and new equipment qualification to scale production.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in science/engineering and 1+ years in SMT, PCB design, or reliability testing, with strong communication and problem-solving skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science and engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing process engineering, SMT, accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layout, R&D.

Responsibilities

• Process engineering for PCBA/microelectronics manufacturing.
• Manage new product introduction of PCBA/microelectronics assemblies; qualify new equipment; design line layout and tooling; provide DFM feedback.
• Implement and automate high-reliability manufacturing processes for autonomous operation by production teams.
• Identify trends to optimize product output, quality, and manufacturability costs.
• Drive processes for volume production including MES, defect handling, configuration management, traceability, yield improvement, and process control.
• Manage work instructions, process documentation, and training.
