Qualifikationen

• The candidate must have an MD or MD/PhD and hold or be eligible for California medical licensure.
• Board certification in CP, AP/CP or ABIM-ID is required; subspecialty in Medical Microbiology preferred.
• Interest or experience in molecular diagnostics and clinical laboratory management is highly desirable; teaching experience is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Oversee daily operations of the Microbiology Section at VAHCS in collaboration with Infectious Diseases and Infection Control.
• Provide clinical services, ensure high-quality diagnostic testing including molecular microbiology, and participate in teaching of residents and fellows.
• Engage in scholarly activities and potential research, with an emphasis on translational laboratory science.
