Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Process Development Associate in Thousand Oaks to advance microbiological method development, optimization and troubleshooting. You will execute studies, analyze data, and help draft protocols in collaboration with QC Microbiology, Process Development, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

The role emphasizes regulatory knowledge, scientific communication and cross‑functional teamwork to support a robust microbiology program and ensure compliant lab operations.

Qualifications

• Requirement 1 Bachelor’s degree
• OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of microbiology, related biological science experience
• OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of microbiology, related biological science experience

Responsibilities

• Execute studies for microbiological method development, optimization, troubleshooting and validation.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, summarize study results, and assist with protocols/reports.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements (USP, Ph. Eur., JP) relevant to microbiology testing.
• Collaborate with QC Microbiology, Process Development, Manufacturing and Quality.
• Represent Process Microbiology in cross‑functional meetings and communicate study progress.
• Support day‑to‑day lab operations, including supplies and ordering.
