Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Process Development Associate Scientist to join our Pivotal Drug Product Technologies group. You will support late-stage biologics formulation and process development for commercial products, working with engineers and scientists to drive lifecycle management and tech transfer.

The role emphasizes data analysis, experimental design, and scalable analytics, with exposure to UF/DF, analytics, and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors with 1–3 years of scientific experience in pharma/biotech.
• Strong background in formulation/process development and drug product operations.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design formulation and process development studies.
• Execute and document laboratory studies with accuracy (UF/DF, filtration, stability).
• Evaluate product/process performance with analytical methods (HPLC, moisture, etc.).
• Build data dashboards using tools like Spotfire and MS Smartsheet.
• Perform data analysis with JMP/SAS and other software; automate data workflows.
• Author/review technical protocols and reports; share results in team meetings.
