Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work
• Basic knowledge of science to perform testing procedures
• Basic knowledge of personal computers to enter data
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies

Responsibilities

• Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending
• Write identification onto plates so client and sample number can be tracked
• Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to analysis process
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to begin growth
• Collect plates and place them in incubator for specified time and temp
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required
• Maintain knowledge of LIMS required to complete responsibilities
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism count
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes
• Perform housekeeping and keep work areas clean and sanitized
• Participate in cleaning schedule and retain samples as required
• Adhere to all safety policies
• Support management in maintenance and improvement of the management system
• Perform other related tasks as needed
