Overview

Florida Woman Care, the largest OB/GYN group practice in the state of Florida, has a state-of-the-art CAP-accredited lab in the Tampa area with specialists in GYN and Cytopathology to produce the highest quality diagnoses of laboratory specimens.

We currently have over 200 medical offices and over 600 OB/GYN Providers throughout the state of Florida.

The Florida Woman Care Laboratory performs Histology, Cytology, Molecular Microbiology and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).

We are seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our microbiology laboratory and assure compliance with all the regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervising microbiology technicians and laboratory assistants in the accessioning, performance, and interpretation of microbiology specimens.
• Provide back-up to other positions in the laboratory.
• Prepare for CAP and other inspections.
• Perform required compliance tasks.
• Participate in other projects and perform other duties as needed.
• Responsible for overall performance of the microbiology department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the field of microbiology.
• Experience with MicroScan Instrumentation.
• ASCP certification preferred.
  • Florida State Licensure is not required.
• Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control procedures.
