Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Madison, WI is seeking a Lab Microbiology Technician to support sample preparation, analysis, and quality processes in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent with 1+ year of relevant work (or a bachelor’s), knowledge of lab safety, and familiarity with LIMS. Pay is $19.50/hour with full-time benefits and a Tuesday–Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience and 1+ year relevant work.
• Bachelor's degree acceptable as alternate qualification.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing and obtain accurate results.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) required to complete duties.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Label plates to ensure client/sample tracking.
• Pipette solutions into tubes/plates according to analysis procedures.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to begin growth processes.
• Maintain equipment and materials for analysis and ensure readiness for next steps.
• Follow safety policies and participate in laboratory housekeeping.
