Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Crete, IL is seeking a Microbiologist I to perform microbiological analyses and support lab operations in a fast-growing environment.

The incumbent will work evenings/weekends, handle samples with accuracy, and contribute to quality and safety while operating LIMS and lab equipment. A related associate degree is required, with a bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required, Bachelor's preferred or equivalent work experience.
• One to two years of microbiology experience.
• Basic chemistry knowledge to prepare media.
• Basic knowledge of food science to analyze microbiological content.
• Analytical and data handling skills are essential for accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and record data in LIMS.
• Perform rapid and confirmation tests to identify bacteria.
• Prepare samples and media for analyses.
• Maintain equipment and assist in quality control and safety procedures.
• Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement in the lab.
