Qualifications

• MLS, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Med Tech titles used to describe the role.
• BS in Medical Technology or related field is preferred or equivalent.
• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting and record-keeping.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and review results before release.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety guidelines.
• Identify and communicate problems that affect test performance or reporting to senior staff.
