Job summary
AdventHealth is seeking a laboratory leadership role in Illinois to oversee a high complexity lab, drive quality initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. The position requires MLS certification, strong leadership, and a focus on patient safety and accurate testing results.
You will manage staffing, budgets, and performance metrics while coordinating with other departments to extend the healing ministry of Christ within a large health system.
Qualifications
- Lead and supervise laboratory staff in a high complexity setting.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, CAP, and related standards.
- Oversee quality control, performance improvement, and safety initiatives.
- Coach and develop team through scheduling, interviews, and evaluations.
- Read and interpret complex test results and provide expert guidance.
Responsibilities
- Oversees staff scheduling to align with workload and minimize overtime.
- Leads and participates in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
- Manages budgeting, department metrics, goals, and inventory/labor costs.
- Represents the laboratory in leadership meetings and cross-functional teams.
- Ensures instrument maintenance and troubleshooting of testing processes.
