Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Glendale Heights, IL is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. You will lead pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing, train staff, and ensure quality and safety in a high-complexity laboratory.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in MLS or related field and MLS (ASCP) or AMT certification with CLIA equivalency consideration. 2+ years of technical lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• MLS (ASCP) or AMT certification required; CLIA equivalency may apply.
• 2+ years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provides orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students.
• Guides technical staff and supports education of clinical staff.
• Follows safety policies and PPE usage.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Manages quality assessment and instrumentation maintenance.
• Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing steps.
