Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a regular full-time laboratory technician to join the microbiology team. You will collect blood and other specimens, perform specimen processing, and support testing dispersal and point-of-care procedures in a fast-paced clinical lab.

Shift is 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. You will enter orders, ensure specimen integrity, maintain records, and help uphold safety and regulatory standards while

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Ability to work 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm shift.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Confidentiality and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and other specimens from patients.
• Label, transport or store specimens accurately.
• Process specimens and prepare for testing.
• Enter test orders and patient data.
• Identify and resolve routine specimen issues.
• Perform select point-of-care testing.
