Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the scheduled afternoon shift (2:30 pm–11:00 pm).
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accuracy in lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and other specimens from patients following established standards.
• Labels, transports or stores collected specimens accurately and timely.
• Processes laboratory specimens including centrifuging, measuring, and distribution.
• Completes patient registration and test order data entry as required.
• Identifies and resolves routine specimen acceptability and test order issues.
• Interprets inpatient/outpatient test orders to determine collection timing.
• Performs point-of-care testing per established standards.
• Maintains records and assists with regulatory compliance.
