Avera McKennan Hospital in United States is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the microbiology team for afternoon shift duties, including specimen collection, waived kit testing, and molecular assays. Schedule: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, Monday–Friday.

No weekends or holidays. You will support specimen processing, transport, and testing dispersal while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Formación

• Must be able to work the hours specified (Afternoon Shift).
• Visual acuity adequate to perform duties and effective communication with others.

Responsabilidades

• Collects blood and other specimens from patients according to standards.
• Labels, transports or stores collected specimens accurately and timely.
• Processes laboratory specimens including centrifuging, separating, measuring, storing and distributing to testing areas or reference labs.
• Completes patient registration and test order data entry as required.
• Identifies and resolves routine specimen/ test order problems for on-campus specimens.
• Refers non-routine problems to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Interprets inpatient/outpatient test orders to determine collection timing and specimen types.
• Performs selected point-of-care testing per standards.
• Maintains and distributes supplies and inventories.
• Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records per regulatory requirements.
