Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Overland Park, KS. The PRN role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, monitoring instrumentation, and delivering accurate test results to support patient care.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science or MLS, with at least 1 year of lab experience. Strong computer skills, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential, along with flexibility for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Responsabilités

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• ASCP or AMT certification
• 1 year or more experience in the molecular department

Additional Job Standards

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
