Job summary

Labcorp in Manhattan, KS is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Patient Services. The role oversees daily lab operations, ensures accurate test performance, and mentors staff. Schedule is Monday–Friday with weekend work as needed.

The supervisor ensures QC/compliance with CLIA and CAP standards, maintains LIS proficiency, and champions process improvements in a fast-paced diagnostic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical/biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• 5+ years of experience as a technologist/technician.
• 2+ years of experience in high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Manhattan KS Branch.
• Ensure tests are accurately performed and results reported timely.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel.
• Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Ensure all shifts are properly staffed.
• Research and resolve production errors; escalate when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Maintain quality control and equipment documentation.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records.

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Patient Services to join our team in Manhattan, KS.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm with weekends work as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Manhattan KS Branch
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 5 years or more of experience as a Technologist/Technician
• 2 years or more of experience in high complexity testing

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 2 years or more of previous supervisor/leadership experience
• 1 year or more of blood draw experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
