Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Calabasas, CA team. The role focuses on receiving and processing clinical specimens, data entry, and maintaining a safe, compliant laboratory environment.

Schedule Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with additional days as needed. This position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within a global life sciences company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfort with handling biological specimens and data entry.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is working and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 4:30pm. Additional days and hours may be required based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 3 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 3 months or more of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
• 3 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Pay Range

**Pay Range:** $17.75 - $22.76 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
