Job summary

Labcorp in Kirksville, MO is seeking a Hospital Reference Test Clerk to prepare specimens, handle data entry, and support laboratory operations.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, comfort handling biological specimens, and strong communication. You will work Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM, contributing to accurate test requests and timely results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Well organized with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing.
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Send test requests to proper location and release test results.
• Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquiries.
• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.
• Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.
• Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving.
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

Current or prior Labcorp experience 1 year or more of experience in a medical / clinical laboratory experience

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
