Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Bigelow 7 inpatient General Medicine unit. You will provide administrative support to clinicians and staff, coordinate patient admissions, discharges and transfers, and manage confidential information.

This role partners with nursing to streamline patient flow and communicate with care teams. On-site schedule includes days, rotating weekends and holidays; compensation includes weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Administrative support 1-2 years required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to proofread, edit documents, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
  • NAHUC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to the unit and hospital-wide staff.
  • Greet patients, families and coworkers professionally.
  • Manage information at central nursing station and unit.
  • Schedule consultations, tests, and patient transport.
  • Enter admissions, discharges and transfers into EMR accurately.
  • Coordinate with ancillary departments for equipment and supplies.
  • Assist manager with payroll or staff scheduling when needed.

Also expected to provide outstanding services for every customer interaction.
