Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer to join our Fort Worth, TX team. The role involves performing detailed fetal anatomy surveys, assisting with procedures, and documenting findings to support high-risk obstetric care.

You will work with perinatologists to deliver comprehensive care to pregnant women. The ideal candidate has ARDMS certification and experience in OB/GYN or fetal medicine ultrasound, with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program with degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
• Maintain or be eligible for ARDMS certification.
• ARDMS OB/GYN or Fetal Echo (FE) certification or eligibility within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed fetal anatomical surveys, including twins and triplets.
• Assist physicians with amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
• Document exam findings, measurements, images, and procedural details.
• Record patient history, indications, and observations.
• Generate clear preliminary reports for interpreting physician review.
• Review studies with interpreting physicians to communicate findings.
• Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with policies.
• Assign appropriate exam types, procedures, and indication codes for reporting and billing.
• Escort patients and accompanying family members to and from the exam room.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by verifying identity and history.
• Explain complex procedures and examinations to patients and family.
• Provide reassurance and clear communication during exams.
• Obtain consent as required.
• Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and address malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory of ultrasound supplies.
• Follow accredited lab protocols for imaging modalities (2D, color flow, Doppler, m-mode).
• Adhere to OSHA and safety training requirements.
• Rotate to other locations as needed to cover absences.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
