Job summary

BLOX, LLC in Alabama is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems. This role emphasizes clean, code-compliant work with a strong background in structured cabling and communication systems.

You will read blueprints, run conduit, and coordinate with project managers and other trades on site, ensuring safety and documentation accuracy throughout projects.

Qualifications

  • Previous electrical experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and use measurement tools accurately.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 -75 lbs and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage wiring including data/telecom, fire alarm, and audio/visual systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Run conduit and cable pathways in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing low voltage systems
  • Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades on job sites
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time on site
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
