Job summary

LINX is seeking low voltage technicians to join a team that designs, installs, and supports commercial network cabling for data centers, multimedia, security, and wireless systems. You will progress through roles from Tech 1 to Tech 3, with focus on safety, documentation, and high-quality workmanship.

Tech 2/3 offers pay rates of $21.00–$28.00/hour, with benefits including 401K, health plans, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to climb ladders and use power tools.
  • Own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
  • Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
  • Requires 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
  • Commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years (Tech 2) / 3 years (Tech 3) of commercial low voltage installation experience.
  • Ability to terminate a jack, pull cable and work a 90 with supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting.
  • Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
  • Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, may also be required to travel within the USA.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
Tech 1
  • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder
  • Must own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
  • Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
  • Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
  • Commercial construction experience preferred
Tech 2
  • All above requirements plus a minimum 2 years of commercial low voltage installation experience
  • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with limited supervision
  • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems forCAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently
  • Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision
Tech 3
  • All above requirements plus a minimum of 3 years of commercial low voltage installation experience
  • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision
  • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision
  • Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with no supervision
  • Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred Experience (not Required)
  • BICSI Technician or Installation Certification
  • Powder Actuated Tools Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
  • High School Diploma
Pay Rate

Tech 2: $21.00 - $25.00/hour
Tech 3: $23.00 - $28.00/hour
