Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc. is seeking a capable warehouse supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in Kansas City. You will coach staff, plan workloads and ensure timely product movement to meet customer demands.

The role requires at least 1 year of supervisory experience, 2 years in a warehouse, and a valid driver’s license. Proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access and availability for night or weekend hours are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year supervisory or management experience.
• 2 years’ warehouse experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record preferred.
• PC skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access preferred.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, criminal background check

• Monitor: Understand workload priorities and direct movement of all products to meet customer needs
• Manage: Coach, train, hire and support staff.Provide regular feedback and recognition. Hold staff accountable for fulfilling their key responsibilities and goals satisfactorily
• Plan: Develop agendas, conduct monthly staff meetings, control expenses/turnover and meet goals
• Punctuality: Apply the attendance policy to scheduled training events just as it is applied to regular work schedules
• Safety: Ensure machines/equipment are properly utilized and immediately correct inappropriate operating behaviors
• Teamwork: Perform duties of supervised staff to assist in meeting deadlines and/or to fill in when short staffed
