Corning's Optical Connectivity group seeks a Metrology Technician in Keller, TX to support daily lab operations by measuring, inspecting, and reporting using advanced metrology equipment. You will handle first article inspections and contribute to fixture development, cross-functional coordination, and process improvements.

The role requires a technical or associate degree and 3+ years in a measurement environment, with proficiency in GD&T and Excel.

Qualifikationen

• Technical or an Associate degree and experience in Metrology, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a measurement laboratory, manufacturing, quality, or technical support environment.
• Experience with coordinate measuring machines, computed tomography (CT) systems, optical scanning, or vision inspection systems
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Working knowledge of first article inspection and basic statistical analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting
• English language proficiency, written and verbal, required for collaboration with global teams

Aufgaben

• Perform measurement and inspection with CMMs, CT systems, profilometers, and vision systems.
• Coordinate sample delivery, measurement requirements, and timing of results with internal customers.
• Document measurement results and communicate status updates to the local team and stakeholders.
• Support fixture development, workflow optimization, and process improvement; create CAD drawings for fixtures.
• Maintain lab organization, cleanliness, and safe work practices; provide field support with optical test instruments
