Corning Inc. is seeking a measurement engineer to support and program a variety of measurement equipment in a glass manufacturing facility at Canton, NY.

You will oversee interferometers, spectroscopy and FTIR systems, and help ensure measurement capabilities meet product specs. Responsibilities include leading improvement projects, writing experimental plans and documentation, and collaborating with sales, product engineering and customers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, Optical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in engineering, metrology or optics.
• Proficient with MS Office; ability to build queries and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Metrology Department in meetings to resolve product-spec vs. measurement issues.
• Lead projects to improve capacity, capability or cost of measurement equipment.
• Write, audit and maintain process documentation as scheduled.
• Write experiment plans and reports.
• Attend Process Engineering and/or Production-related meetings.
