Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Metrology Quality Engineer for our Pontiac, IL facility.

You will develop and maintain measurement methods for CMMs, optical systems, and other advanced metrology technologies, ensuring Built-In Quality and defect prevention. You will collaborate across Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supplier Quality to analyze measurement data, support RCCA investigations, and implement measurement improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Metrology, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with metrology methods, gauge strategies, and BIQ concepts is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, MSA tools, and statistical analysis is required.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement metrology best practices to reduce variation and improve measurement capability.
• Lead MSA activities including Gage R&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies.
• Provide technical leadership for GD&T interpretation and measurement data credibility.
• Support audits and maintain metrology procedures, standards, and calibration requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supplier Quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
