Job summary

International Automotive Components (IAC) Group is seeking a Metrologist/CMM Operator to join our quality team. You will program and operate CMMs, interpret GD&T, and document inspection results to ensure part conformity.

Training on PolyWorks will be provided to the right candidate, with emphasis on accurate layouts and process improvement. The role requires 3+ years in automotive CMM programming, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to read drawings and reverse engineer

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a CMM programmer in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Quality; B.S preferred.
• Outstanding analytical skills.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Knowledgeable in GD&T and problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, 5P).
• Proven ability to program CMM from drawings or via reverse engineering.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and participate in activities to support safety and quality.
• Develop and maintain CMM work instructions.
• Perform part inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gage, and other gauges.
• Provide documented reports and explanations of inspection results.
• Train others to run existing inspection programs on the CMM.
• Support Quality Engineers in meeting part submission requirements and validation.
• Keep gage control systems up to date and improve layouts.
