Job summary

International Automotive Components is seeking a Metrologist/CMM Operator to join our quality team. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication to support safety and quality initiatives.

You will develop CMM programs, maintain gage control systems, train staff, and collaborate with Quality Engineers on part submissions and validations. A background in GD&T and precision measurement is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a CMM programmer in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Quality from a college/university or technical school
• Must have outstanding analytical skills
• Must be proficient in written and verbal communication
• Knowledgeable in problem-solving methods (8D, 5-WHY, 5P)
• Proven ability to program CMMs from electronic drawings or via reverse engineering
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings
• Thorough GD&T knowledge

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and participate in safety and quality activities
• Develop and maintain CMM work instructions
• Perform part layouts/inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Support Quality Engineers in meeting part submission requirements and validation
• Provide documented inspection reports and explanations of results
• Develop and maintain gage control systems
• Train others to run inspection programs on the CMM
• Participate in corrective actions and improve gage/control processes
• Maintain knowledge of current inspection technology and introduce as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
