Job summary

IAC Group in the United States is seeking a Metrologist/CMM Operator to join the Quality team. The ideal candidate will program CMMs, inspect parts with precision instruments, and develop gage control systems. Training on Polyworks will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a CMM programmer in automotive manufacturing.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Quality; B.S. preferred.
• Outstanding analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in GD&T and reading mechanical drawings.
• Experience in programming CMMs from drawings or reverse engineering.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of 8D, 5-WHY, 5P problem-solving methods.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and participate in activities to support safety and quality.
• Develop and maintain CMM work instructions.
• Perform part inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gage, and other fixtures.
• Support Quality Engineers in meeting part submission requirements.
• Provide documented reports and explanation of inspection results.
• Train others to run existing inspection programs on the CMM.
• Participate in corrective action investigations and action items.
• Maintain the gage control systems and inspection fixtures.
• Suggest improvements to gauge/control layouts and processes.
• Keep up-to-date with current inspection technology.
