Job summary

United Rentals in Irving, TX is seeking an Area Dispatcher to organize daily driver dispatch for a metro area. You will coordinate with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps to ensure timely deliveries and high service levels.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, maximizing loads, and optimizing overtime while maintaining safety policy compliance. Strong leadership and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
• Diligent attention to safety.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication.
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies.
