Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Austin is seeking an Area Dispatcher to organize daily driver dispatch for a metro area, coordinating with Operations Managers and Inside Sales to ensure timely deliveries and top-notch customer service.

You will monitor progress, adjust schedules, maximize loads, and support branches with changes to equipment location or delivery times, while upholding safety policies. This role demands leadership and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, organization, and communication required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical knowledge of DOT/FMCSA rules and regulations.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver service.
• Support branches with changes to equipment location or delivery times.
• Demonstrate safety, accountability, and proactive communication.
• Perform safety inspections per company and governmental policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
