Job summary

The City of Pearland is hiring a full-time Utility Billing Field Technician to lead and improve day-to-day operations within the Utility Billing Division of the Finance department.

Position involves completing meter reads, field validations, and service work in a fast-paced environment. The city offers comprehensive benefits, TMRS retirement with a 2:1 match, and paid time off including holidays and vacation.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Requires some meter reading experience.
• CSI License from TCEQ or received in one year.
• Valid Class C Driver's License issued by the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Performs weekly water meter reads via drive-by for AMR and AMI meters for billing.
• Field validation to ensure information is accurate from meter reading for billing.
• Completes daily work orders including service start/stop, re-reads for billing, and delinquency shutoffs/reconnects.
• Maintains water meters and replaces meters/devices as needed.
• Performs meter profile and usage reports for office analysis.
