Job summary

Tampa Electric, a TECO Energy company, seeks a Meter Tester to perform residential, commercial and industrial meter testing using WECO test boards, TESCO software, GE Meter Mate and ITRON Communications Manager, indoors with potential overtime.

You will work with Meter Technicians and must meet education and driver requirements; safety is prioritized and storm duties may be required. This role offers a clear progression path within Meter Operations.

Qualifications

• High School/GED diploma required.
• Florida Class E Driver License required.
• Smith Driving Training required.
• Must pass training modules and OJT; retention test after 6 months and board review to advance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices at all times.
• Test single-phase meters: plain, network, AMI, TOU, demand; reset & retire as required.
• Test three-phase meters: plain, network, demand, TOU; reset & retire; no IP device installation.
• Provide warehouse assistance and backup.
• Assist Meter Technicians and Meter Specialist in qualified tasks.
