Job summary

Tampa Electric is seeking a Meter Tester to handle testing of residential, commercial, and industrial meters using WECO boards, TESCO software, GE Meter Mate and ITRON tools. The role is indoors and may require overtime and storm duty as part of ED line support.

Qualified candidates must have a Florida Class E license, a High School diploma, and complete required training modules and retention tests to advance within Meter Operations.

Qualifications

• Pass Operations Test Battery (OTB)
• Pass Skills Test and Behavioral Fit Test.
• Must pass written test and review board to advance to top pay step.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe work practices at all times.
• Test single-phase meters (Plain, Network, AMI, TOU, Load Survey, K-base).
• Test three-phase meters (Plain, Network, Demand, Load Survey, TOU, Phone Line, K-base).
• Do not install IP devices or certain specialty meters.
• Provide warehouse support and assist Meter Technicians.
