Job summary

The City of Greensboro's Water Resources Department seeks a Meter Services Supervisor to oversee the meter repair and change-out program and water quality monitoring, ensuring accurate metering and reliable service.

You will lead field operations, supervise staff, coordinate safety, training, and documentation, and work across divisions to maintain system integrity and respond to customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 4 years' experience with a Water Metering System and Cross Connection Program or related experience.
• NC AWWA Meter Technician, Backflow Cross Connection, or Grade B NC WTFO Distribution System certification or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire date.
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities for the Meter Services section to support efficient, timely work.
• Oversee water metering system reliability and Cross Connection Control programs.
• Monitor and review daily logs and reports for accuracy and accountability.
• Provide training in safety, job knowledge, and operational procedures.
