Job summary

The City of Greensboro’s Water Resources Department seeks a Water Supply Division Manager to direct operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and staffing for a 54 MGD surface water system, including two drinking water plants, labs, and storage facilities.

Lead policy development, coordinate with regional partners, ensure all permits and EPA SDWA requirements are met, and guide capital improvements and infrastructure planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalency with 10+ years of water/sewer utility experience including operation, maintenance, laboratory monitoring, or capital project management of a drinking water treatment facility.
• 7+ years of water and/or sewer utility experience that includes operation, maintenance, laboratory monitoring, or capital project management of a drinking water treatment facility.
• Valid Driver's License.
• North Carolina Class 'A' Surface Water Facility Water Treatment Operator Certificate or NC Professional Engineer Certification.
• Class A NC Surface Water Certification or NC Professional Engineer Licensure (or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire date).
• 1+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct operations, maintenance, and staffing of the drinking water treatment facilities and related infrastructure.
• Lead compliance efforts with EPA-SDWA requirements and applicable permits.
• Manage three surface water reservoirs with significant raw water storage capacity.
• Serve as liaison to neighboring cities supplying Greensboro water.
• Evaluate treatment strategies and capital projects; guide engineering design drawings.
