City of Pelham is seeking a Meter Reader to efficiently read residential and commercial water meters, verify readings, and maintain accurate usage records. The role involves outdoor field work and direct customer interaction.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Alabama driver’s license, and the ability to work in varied weather conditions while using a tablet for data entry.
Reads water consumption meters and records volume used by residential and commercial customers.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Ability to use iPad or Tablet, and database software.
Valid Alabama Driver's License
