Job summary

The City of Pelham is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the golf course and surrounding grounds. You will perform routine manual labor, operate and maintain small power tools, and use large equipment such as tractors and mowers to prepare the course for play.

Responsibilities include following safety procedures, working weekends and holidays, and building positive relationships with staff and patrons. A high school diploma or GED and a valid Alabama driver’s license are required or preferred,

Description

Maintains the grounds of golf course and prepared for play, performs routine manual labor in-volved in maintaining golf course, operates and maintains small power tools, and uses large equipment such as tractors, loaders, and mowers to perform duties.

  • Maintains all aspects of golf course and grounds by using required skills and equipment.

  • Follows all applicable safety procedures and laws when using equipment and chemicals.

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior related experience and/or training preferred.



Certificates And Licenses

Valid Alabama Driver’s license required.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



Reasoning Ability

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, the individual should be proficient in relevant technology and software applications required for the position.
