Job summary

Element Materials Technology’s Daleville, IN laboratory is seeking a Materials Test Technician (2nd Shift) to perform routine and non-routine testing under supervision. The role supports aerospace and critical manufacturing clients with tensile, hardness, Charpy/IZOD, and metallurgical evaluations, ensuring timely, accurate results and strict safety adherence.

The team handles mechanical testing, metallography, weld testing, heat treatment, and failure analysis support.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred; college or vocational coursework welcomed
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a testing-related field
• Basic understanding of testing concepts
• Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry
• Possess computer skills; MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Performs tests as directed by customer specifications
• Operates under supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
• Interacts periodically with customers
• Adheres to all Element Safety Standards
• Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Element's SOPs
• Prepares material specimens for testing
• Ensures tests are performed using calibrated and well-maintained equipment
• Gathers and records test data, determining material conformance to customer requirements and industry standards
