Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Quality Technician in Wallingford, CT to perform quality tests on powdered metal and metal strip. You will set up and calibrate lab equipment, document results in LIMS, and ensure compliance with safety and ISO standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of metals testing experience, and a technical associate degree is preferred. Expect an on-site production environment and opportunities to advance in quality systems and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years’ experience in metals testing preferred.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests at various production stages for dimensions, mechanical, electrical and chemical properties and final inspection.
• Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain precision laboratory equipment.
• Document test results using LIMS and report findings.
• Enforce OSHA, SDS/MSDS safety protocols and hazardous waste disposal per AMETEK safety standards.
• Enter test results into the MRP system and support material certification.
• Generate chemical, thermal expansion and mechanical quality tests as required and provide analysis and recommendations.
• Maintain records and certification files for incoming raw material.
• Conduct compliance testing to meet customer/spec requirements.
• Collect data, analyze problems, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead and perform ISO 9001 process audits.
