Job summary

Ulbrich Precision Alloys in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Lab/Q.C. Technician to join our precision metals team. You will conduct a broad range of performance tests on metals and alloys to determine physical properties and verify that specs are met.

This role emphasizes meticulous testing and adherence to quality standards in a fast-paced environment. You will train operators, perform capability studies, and participate in internal supplier audits while adhering to our Quality System and ISO

Qualifications

• High School graduate with 3 years' metal/quality experience.
• Experience deciphering product specifications and alloy types.
• Knowledge of SPC, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S.

Responsibilities

• Perform microscopic examinations to determine grain structure.
• Test tensile strength, hardness, and other properties.
• Verify finished products meet customer requirements.
• Record nonconforming products and initiate corrective actions.
• Train operators in gauging methods.
• Conduct process capability studies and gauge R&R.
• Conduct internal supplier audits and ensure testing procedures.
• Adhere to the company's Quality System procedures.
