Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Metals Process Engineer FEOL to join the team in Austin. The role involves supporting shift operations from a systems perspective, resolving quality and interlock issues, and advancing PVD equipment for FEOL/BEOL integration.

You will analyze data with Process Owners, lead Q-TIPs/DC events, and contribute to continuous improvement through Lean and statistical methods. On-site in Austin with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field with graduate-level coursework, research, or internship in data analysis, quality/manufacturing fundamentals, and device structures.
• Hands-on data analysis using curve fitting models, Python, and MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Support shift operations from a systems perspective and address quality and change point management issues.
• Develop, implement, and operate advanced PVD equipment for FEOL/BEOL integration in a 300mm production facility.
• Troubleshoot ECO setup and RMM interlocks; back up shift supervisor when needed.
• Analyze data with Process Owners and technicians to drive release of Q-TIPs and DC Events.
• Generate 8D reports and lead corrective actions and preventative measures.
• Participate in task force teams to improve yield, defect reduction, OEE, and scrap reduction.
• Formulate experiments and Lean/statistical analyses to guide continuous improvement.
