Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Metals team in Austin. You will maintain and develop critical ALD process parameters, investigate complex problems, and implement robust solutions with peers across engineering and manufacturing.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, data-driven analysis, KPI monitoring, and driving continuous improvement. The role demands strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional task forces

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in Semiconductor Process Flows.
• Experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of ASM EMERALD ALD platform.
• Understanding of critical process parameters, monitoring strategies and equipment signals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues on ALD lines.
• Develop and optimize critical process parameters and KPIs for equipment.
• Lead task forces addressing yield, defect reduction, OEE, and scrap reduction.
• Identify KPI gaps and drive projects with schedules to close gaps.
• Produce high-quality reports with clear graphs showing process state.
• Draw conclusions from statistical analyses and present findings.
• Respond to critical fab events with containment and root-cause analysis.
• Create and update SOPs to standardize processes and methods.
• Support cost-reduction activities and adapt to changing priorities.
• Collaborate with equipment engineers, technicians, and manufacturing daily.
