Job summary

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater West in Pomona, CA is seeking a Scientist I in Metals to perform routine sample preparation and analysis of water samples using EPA and Standard Methods procedures.

The role requires a BS/BA in chemistry or related field, 1–2 years lab experience, and experience with ICP-OES and ICP-MS. Overtime and weekend shifts are expected. The position offers full-time hours and a competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/BA degree in chemistry and/or related science field.
• One to two years of laboratory experience.
• Experience with ICP-OES and ICP-MS (EPA 200.7/EPA 200.8) preferred.
• Must be available to work overtime including weekends.
• Excellent math and computer skills.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and good organization.
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Routine sample preparation and analysis of water samples by EPA/Standard Methods procedures.
• Data processing, data entry and written documentation.
• Performing routine instrument maintenance.
• Preparation of reagents and standards.
• Other general laboratory duties; include late shifts/weekends.
